Arrival to Kashgar

Last 50km into Kashgar was fantastic, hundreds of donkey carts, horses, and of course, the few camels. You can see these majestic beasts a half a kilometer away, their hair swaying back and forth.

  1. When I would pass the horse and donkey carts on my bike, if the bearded old men saw me coming…I always received a beautiful smile from them. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen so many wonderful smiles, from behind long white beards.

It was one of the best stretches of road so far. I may have to say, the entire Southern Silk Road route I rode, was one of the best.

A trifle disappointed that you make your ceremonial entrance into Kashgar on a camel.

Particularly on *that* camel, with his bushy chest, humps and thighs.
